Overview

Future Martians is a FIRST Robotics Compeition (FRC) Team #9023 that I co-founded in 2021. We are a team of high school students that build robots to compete in the FRC competition. We have won many awards and qualified for the World Championship twice.

My Work

Year 01

I identified a need for a community robotics team, after local high-school teams were rejecting passionate and dedicated members due to mismanagement and size limitations. Helped found team and in our first year we won the Creativity Award at Districts as well as the Rookie All-Star Award at Districts, District Championships, and in the Newton Division in the World Championships. Additional Accomplishments: - Served as Drive Team Technician who worked with drivers to quickly resolve issues that arise on the playing field during competitions. - Served as the team's first Safety Captain where I designed as well as implemented safety processes to be used in the workshop, practice field, and during competitions. I also presented said practices and plans to other teams at competitions.

Year 02

After our successful rookie year, our team expanded out of a flat team into a diverse team with roles. I oversaw the creation and organization the electrical team, currently working as a sub-division of the Software team. I worked to recruit members from both the Build and the Software teams. Additionally, I also worked as software member working with advanced Physics and Math concepts. I continued to serve as the team's Safety Captain and Drive Team Technician for this year. This year, we were the 8th Alliance Captain Finalists as well as the District Engineering Inspiration Award winners at the PNW Auburn Event, Event Winners as well as Innovation in Control Award winners at the PNW Sammamish Event, and Team Spirit Award winners at the PNW District Championships. At the World Championships in Houston, we advanced into playoffs and competed with some of the best teams in the world.

Year 03

Moving into our third year, after learning from our experiences from the previous year and the crucial role that the Electrical team plays, I pushed for the expansion of Electrical into a full department. With this, we recruited more members from both the Build and Software teams. This year, with more team members, we took on more ambitious electrical projects such as under-the-robot electricals, which resulted in a huge successes with our first year in team history running with 0 Electrical Failures during competition! This year, we competed in the two hardest events in the PNW District and emerged with enough points to qualify for District Championships as well as winning the Engineering Inspiration Award for a second year in a row and the Gracious Professionalism Award. We captained Alliance 7 at the District Championships and competed in the playoffs. At the World Championships in Houston, we advanced into playoffs and competed with some of the best teams in the world.
